According to ABC News, five workers were sacked from the Green Eggs company last month after the Health Department traced an outbreak of salmonella to the business.

More than 200 people fell ill in February after eating at two restaurants that used raw Green Eggs products.

A health alert was issued and the company was restricted from selling its produce until additional food safety measures were put in place.

Deputy chief health officer Dr Michael Ackland lifted the ban today saying the company had worked hard to meet the requirements.

He says the department is now satisfied there is no further risk to the public.
