Minimum Ventilation: Its Crucial Role
ITALY - Termotecnica Pericoli has long recognised the critical role of minimum ventilation in any successful ventilation system. With this in mind, the unique EOS/EWS42” range of fans recently introduced to bridge the gap more seamlessly in this crucial phase has meet with rave reviews for its ability to manage and optimise that fine transition in the introduction of critical fresh air and removal of stale air without impacting on the house temperature and heating system.
Optimising the transition from minimum to the first stage of ventilation has always been a challenge due to the large capacity step between the newer generation 'Large Capacity' exhaust fans and the current standard lower capacity 36-inch fans, traditionally used for the minimum ventilation stage.
This capacity gap has now for the first time been closed with the EOS/EWS42” range designed and engineered, through two motor/performance options. In addition to a few minor yet innovative changes, a new class of minimum ventilation fan has been launched.
A small increase in the wall housing dimensions of ±5 per cent, resulted in an increased capacity of 23 per cent and an increased efficiency of 17 per cent, without impacting the cost of the fan and includes all standard features plus:
- new aerodynamic shutters
- plastic shutter socket to eliminate air and light – particularly when shut
- new motor plate and new propeller hub for greater rigidity
- the new aerodynamic drive pulley, increased the air flow, and
- new safety access.
Immediate upsides to this new fan with the increased capacity and its increase in cfm/W are fewer fans per installation, and lower capital and lower running costs.
