According to Vanguard, State Chairman of Poultry Farmers’ Association of Nigeria, Julius Gusan, who sought the intervention of the company in mopping up the excess eggs, said lack of patronage was affecting their businesses.

Mr Gusan, who spoke during a visit to the company, said the step would significantly reduce the glut and put poultry farmers back on their feet.

Responding, the Managing Director of Grand Cereals and Oil Mills Limited, Layi Oyatoki asked the farmers to create adequate awareness to enhance the consumption of eggs and other poultry products in the state.

Mr Oyatoki also said that his company had concluded plans to buy some of the excess eggs in the state and distribute same to schools in Plateau and Kano states.
