Regarding the operation and adjustment of poultry nipple drinkers, there are several guidelines (water flow, side-action or not). The background of these guidelines is not clear because little is known about drinking behaviour of poultry and their preferences for certain types of nipple drinkers.

This research will provide insight into the drinking behaviour and preferences regarding different nipple drinkers.
