Japanese Business Leaders Visit Hy-Line

US - Japanese business leaders from Marubeni Egg Corporation visited Hy-Line for a two-day discussion and tour.

Among the visitors from Marubeni Egg Corporation were Chief Operating Officer Makoto Watanabe; Director Operating Officer Hiromi Teranishi; and Sales Manager Yosuke Inoue.

Marubeni Egg Corporation is a division of Marubeni Corporation that trades and develops businesses in the fields of raw ingredients for food, food distribution and food products.

With interest in the US egg market and industry, the Japanese group toured a variety of supermarkets and was able to gain insight on the different options consumers have in the US for purchasing eggs and egg products.

The visit included follow-up discussions on the egg retail market with Mr Matt Herrick and Angie Van Dalen of Perishable Distributors of Iowa and the US egg industry with Dr Maro Ibarburu-Blanc of Iowa State University.

The group toured Hy-Line’s Egg Quality facility to learn about Hy-Line’s egg quality testing from Hy-Line Geneticist Dr Petek Settar.
