First, the MSD UK Poultry team will be exhibiting at the British Pig & Poultry Fair on the 13th and 14th May 2014. This leading industry event, which is held biannually at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, attracts over 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors.

The UK Poultry Team will have a stand in the poultry hall (Stand 11) with the main focus being the much anticipated launch of PANACUR® Aquasol for chickens. PANACUR® AquaSol, for the treatment of gastro-intestinal nematodes in chickens infected with Ascaridia galli (L5 and adult stages) and Heterakis gallinarum (L5 and adult stages), has been proven safe for all types of chickens, including layers and breeders.

Made with proprietary wet-milling technology, PANACUR® AquaSol is manufactured in smaller, more uniform particle sizes of the active ingredient, delivering a more stable product which does not require further agitation, providing both a high level of efficacy and convenience.

In addition to helpful information regarding deworming techniques, the booth will also feature the popular interactive chicken puzzle game. Customers will also have the unique opportunity to have their caricature portrait painted onto an egg to take home as a memento of the day.

MSD Animal Health is also happy to host the Great British Breakfast on the first day of the Pig & Poultry Fair. This involves premier parking for invited key customers followed by a traditional full English breakfast. This provides attendees another great opportunity to discuss key products and services and learn how they can add real value to their business.

The second key industry event MSD Animal Health will attend is VIV Europe 2014 20th – 22nd May at Jaarbeurs Hall 8, Stand DO26, Utrecht, the Netherlands. Attendees are encouraged to visit the booth to find out more about MSD Animal Health’s Convenience and Go Beyond programs – both designed to help poultry producers achieve process and performance improvement.

MSD Animal Health’s Convenience Program is the poultry industry’s first comprehensive respiratory health program. The program was developed in recognition of the fact the broiler growth cycle, now typically 42 days in duration, is predicted to accelerate to the point where, by 2020, 70% of broilers will reach their target growth rate of 2.5 Kg at 35 days of age.

The Convenience Program moves respiratory vaccination into the hatchery, avoiding reaction concerns in the heavy-growth phase, and allowing for increased vaccination efficiency and accuracy because of the controlled conditions. The program advises the use of in-ovo and day-old vaccination in combination to provide earlier and longer protection.

The ‘Go Beyond’ program will show farmers how a vaccination program can be used for control of subclinical coccidiosis, and how the use of Aviguard® can aid in the maintenance of proper microflora balance in the intestine, improving flock performance and increasing returns.

The premise of the poultry industry’s first comprehensive intestinal health and food safety program is helping producers to look beyond traditional poultry health methods and products to prevent intestinal disease and improve flock performance and food safety.

At VIV Europe, MSD Animal Health will also introduce the newly developed power-free Nobilis sprayer®. This machine equipped with the “Intervet Nozzle” will secure safety and accuracy of day old vaccination.

MSD Animal Health is proud to participate in these two informative European industry events for poultry farmers.
