According to Jakarta Post, the administration’s industry and trade department head, Bambang Budhianto, said the chickens could have raised health concerns if consumed.

“We found the expired chicken in the refrigerator of the supermarket,” he said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

The department planned to burn the chickens immediately to avoid the spread of disease.

If consumed, the expired chicken may have caused food poisoning.
