H7N9 Flu Virus Detected at Henan Poultry Market

CHINA - Poultry at a market in eastern China tested positive for the H9N9 flu virus in early June.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No.17 dated 9 July to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report reveals that the low-pathogenic H7N9 influenza virus was found in birds at a market in the Hualong district of Puyang in Henan in eastern China on 3 June.

Two of the 30 oral/cloacal swabs collected from the market tested positive for the virus.
