US – A dispute over the conversion plans for a poultry processing and cooking plant to be housed in a pickle plant has been taken to Superior Court.

According to Delaware online, the former Millsboro area pickle plant adaptation has seen Protecting our Indian River and Inland Bays Foundations Inc. call for the board’s ruling to be overturned.

Plans are for a two million bird per week plant on the property.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control approved a brownfield cleanup plan for the former Pinnacle Foods and Vlasic plant in late December.

The company's environmental plan documented past uses, pollution and contamination in the area, but mainly required long-term monitoring of groundwater and proper disposal of contaminated materials encountered during redevelopment.
