US Venture Pushes Jamaica Broiler Sales Higher

By: Growth for the business year ending May 2014 was marked by strong US division performance, which although embryonic, helped overall sales climb to $4.33 billion, reports the Jamaica Gleaner.
US turnover doubled to J$6.85 billion, while operating profit increased sixteen-fold to J$332 million.
Overall profits contracted slightly, from J$1.03 billion to J$919 billion, blamed on losses in the ethanol division. Other factors were a growing debt-servicing bill and increased operating expenses.
