Israelis Face Chicken Shortage Ahead of High Holy Days

ISRAEL - The shortage of fresh chickens that usually accompanies the High Holy Days is expected to be worse this year.

The High Holy Days coincide with the Muslim Id al-Adha holiday, according to the Poultry Breeders Association.

According to Haaretz, slaughterhouses will have fewer working days at a time when chicken consumption increases about 30 per cent.
