The mighty egg is being celebrated from Monday 6 October – not only because it is nutritious and tasty but also because it’s the most healthy and digestible form of protein.

And the final day of British Egg Week 2014 is extra special because the whole globe joins in to celebrate World Egg Day.

The Love Free Range Eggs campaign has a whole week full of recipes, statistics, facts and a competition lined up which will culminate in one lucky free range fan winning a beautiful Emma Bridgewater china hen worth £49.95 – the most stylish way to store free range eggs.

Facebook fans are being asked to decide their favourite ways to cook an egg in a daily ‘free range fight’. At the end of the week the chosen recipes will go head to head to decide how the British public prefer their eggs.

Entrants must simply like the Love Free Range Eggs Facebook page and comment on the daily post.

Campaign ambassador and free range egg farmer Roger Gent said: “About 14 million free range eggs are eaten every day in the UK which is incredible. So British Egg Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate how wonderful the free range egg is and inspire people to try a new recipe.

“As a free range egg farmer I can eat eggs for breakfast, lunch and tea so picking a favourite is a bit difficult for me! It’ll be interesting to see which recipe the British public pick as their favourite,” said Mr Gent.
