Attendees experienced a diverse range of topics from 12 internal and external speakers over the two day conference programme designed to highlight the available technical support and provide key information for the benefit of the customer businesses represented at the meeting.

The programme commenced with a presentation from the new Aviagen CEO who outlined briefly the organisation and “three pillars of future success” for the company as being “products, people and purpose”.

This was followed by an Aviagen update both globally and within the emerging Asia region, while the third speaker delivered a presentation on the importance of biosecurity and compartmentalisation to the company and customers.

For the remainder of the day the audience gained insight to the structure and performance of the US industry, a review by the regional manager of technical service, an in-depth look at Aviagen global logistics and export followed by the mission and priorities of the global technical transfer team.

The final presenter gave a comprehensive assessment of why food safety in chicken meat is a top priority for customers, consumers and regulators globally.

The following day started with the production of quality poultry feed which provided a good platform for an overview of the trends and drivers of Asian poultry industry from Rabobank agribusiness research.

An address entitled the role of the Royal Thai Government on food safety preceded a unique presentation describing motivation and the application of a ‘marathon mentality’ to achieve sustainable success in business.

The meeting closed with a genetic update and product development, a core interest for the group and indication of the future key drivers for our business in the region.

Orapan Chansawat, Vice President Ross Asia summarised the meeting: “The association meeting gives the Ross team the chance to thank our customers for their continued support.

"It also offers us the opportunity to listen to their comments, get their feedback and review with them the type bird they feel will fill their needs in the future, together with an opportunity for us to present our support activities.”

Jan Muhammad Javaid, CEO Jadeed Farms commented: “Due to the high price of grain in our market we are always interested from a meeting like this to learn more about the improved feed conversion from the breeding program. Ross has the leading broiler breeder programme and we pleased to be part of it for the future.”
