According to Follow-up Report No.1 dated 21 April from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to the World Organisation (OIE), the second outbreak of high-path bird flu in Ontario was in Bright, which is in Oxford county, like the previous outbreak.

The outbreak started on 15 April on a commercial broiler breeder farm. Around 1,000 of the 27,000 birds died. The farm had two barns with birds 29 weeks of age; only one barn was affected.

The farm has been quarantined, disease control actions are in progress and a 10-km control zone around the farm is being established.

On the previous outbreak in Oxford county, Ontario, CFIA reports humane depopulation of all susceptible animals on the infected premises was completed on 10 April 2015. The process for cleaning and disinfecting all barns has started.
