Gift Funds Fellowships for Poultry Science Students
US - The Poultry Science Association Foundation has announced a $250,000 pledge funded by the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms. The gift was announced at the PSA Foundation Donor Reception during the 104th annual meeting of the Poultry Science Association (PSA).
The money will support three Arthur W. Perdue Foundation Fellowships. Two-year fellowships for two students pursuing a master’s degree will be followed by a fellowship for one doctoral student for three years.
The Arthur W. Perdue Fellowships will be awarded on a nationally competitive basis over a five-year period.
Student recruitment and the application process is anticipated to begin in early September. Selected students will begin their fellowship in 2016.
This visionary gift for the education of talented graduate students interested in poultry science was established through the PSA Foundation Charting Our Course – Securing Future Leadership for Poultry Campaign (Capital Campaign). The involvement of Bruce Stewart-Brown, PhD and Randolph D. Mitchell, PhD, both of Perdue Farms, made the gift possible.
