More Avian Flu Detected in Nigeria

NIGERIA - A further 18 new outbreaks of Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have been reported on layer and turkey farms in Nigeria.

In total, of the 145,425 birds susceptible, 13,258 cases were discovered. This led to 13,258 deaths and a further 131,897 birds to be destroyed.

The effected farms are located across the country and the birds ranged from turkeys to young layers.
