Nigeria Detects Further Avian Influenza in Poultry

NIGERIA - Another seven outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) have been reported in broilers and layers.

Of the 28,050 birds susceptible, 5426 cases were reported and this led to 5426 deaths and a further 22,132 birds destroyed.

The outbreaks were reported on farms in the Rivers, Lagos, Edo and Enugu areas.
