The choice fell on the NOVOGEN Brown as the Bolivian market is a 100 per cent brown egg market. The production of all associates of this cooperative represents 25 per cent of Bolivian egg market.

CAISY LTDA was founded in 1957 by 48 Japanese immigrants in order to develop a common production force to assist in the growth of the region. They arrived in Santa Cruz De La Sierra through bilateral agreements between Japan and Bolivia. CAISY works to improve the country's food security and is appreciated for its continued contribution to the technological development of the region. The company is known for its cooperative model in addition to being recognised for its strong production of eggs and rice. The group currently has 103 associates involved in production and administrative activities.

The group diversified its agricultural activities into several segments: eggs, rice, soybeans, macadamia nuts, cattle, citrus and other fruits. This allows them to maintain a stable turn over and income based on the seasonality of each particular production.

But poultry farming remains the major activity of the cooperative. The company has a total of 66 members for the production of 300 million eggs per year, mainly sold in the cities of La Paz, El Alto and Santa Cruz De La Sierra, Sucre, Potosi and other departments. This represents more than 25 per cent of the national market.

CAISY cares about quality from the first part of production, which is animal husbandry, to incubation and the delivery of commercial pullets to its associates. That is why CAISY made the choice for the NOVOgen Brown. "NOVOGEN brings a good quality chick, traceability and flawless logistics", according to Mr Ikuro Nishizawa who is the Sales Manager of the cooperative. "We were in France and the Netherlands in order to understand all about the genetics of the NOVOGEN products and the work done on the level of R&D. We were attracted by the challenge and believe it is a product that fits our sometimes difficult farming conditions (very high temperature and humidity). Liveability and productivity with an excellent persistency are important factors for us looking at the volume of eggs we handle."

The first field results of commercial layers will be seen during the last quarter of 2015. In the meantime, Mr Ikuro Nishizawa looks forward to a bright future and a long-term partnership with NOVOGEN.

The company has a storage capacity of 37 000 tons of raw material. It produces 3800 tons of feed per month, which allows them to perfectly control its feed formulations and minimise their health risks. The professionalism of CAISY is also demonstrated through its own Avian Pathology Department in which everything is put in place by qualified experts to allow the flocks to produce in the best possible way. The design of buildings and the general conditions from feed to final production, nothing is left to chance. Their goal is to provide technical assistance for a perfect health status, improve production efficiency and maximise the economic results of the associates of the cooperative.
