Twelve More Bird Flu Outbreaks Found in Cote D'Ivoire

COTE D'IVOIRE - Southern Cote D'Ivoire has been hit by twelve more outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

The outbreaks were of the H5N1 strain and all happened in Abidjan province.

85 birds died out of a susceptible population of 7660.

The outbreaks are suspected to have started because of contact with wild birds, and were discovered through sampling of birds at markets.
