The production cost index fell by 4.48 per cent for poultry and 0.4 per cent for swine in March, after reaching record highs in February.

The decline was driven by lower prices of feed (-4.57 per cent).

However, in the last 12 months, the production cost index for swine rose in total by 21.27 per cent, and for poultry by 21.41 per cent.
