Approximately 50 delegates from 15 Cobb distributors serving more than 70 countries in the region took part in the biennial event, which took place over four days at the Swissotel The Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. The Cobb technical support team delivered presentations that spanned the range of grandparent management topics and reviewed performance data trends from the region, discussing expectations for the months and years ahead.

“It was a very successful and interactive meeting with many discussions between our distributors and the Cobb technical team on how to manage uniformity from hatchery through to processing,” said Tore Mercan, Cobb EMEA sales and technical director. “It was great to see the room so engaged and hear everyone sharing their own experiences to help one another.”

Delegates were given presentations on brooding, feed and male management, as well as updates on body weight control and nutrition. All of the information shared connected back to the event’s central theme of achieving optimum uniformity from the start.

“These meetings give us a great and rare opportunity to get in a room with colleagues from around the world and share ideas,” said Jan Mascheck, director of Cobb Germany. “I particularly enjoyed working through the case studies on grading and hatchery management. I have a lot to take back with me and share with my team.”

Following a guided tour around the old city of Istanbul, the week closed with a gala dinner on the Bosporus River cruise where awards for best performance across the Cobb500™ flock were recognised. The winners were presented with a traditional Istanbul hand-painted plate. Al-Watania Poultry Saudi won the award for Most Progressed Company, while Quantum Foods won Best Performance for Fast Feather. Additionally, Cobb Europe’s own production team won Best Performance for Slow Feather and Cobb Germany won the award for Best Performance in the Male Line.
