According to reporting from Meatingplace, the US Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry and Eggs (US-RSPE) and the International Poultry Welfare Alliance (IPWA) have set a date for their first Joint Annual Conference after gaining new members. The conference will take place in Atlanta, GA on 9 October.

The boards for the US-RSPE and IPWA have been established and reflect the multi-stakeholder categories of the supply chain, with committees focused on topics that advance their mission through research, education and outreach initiatives. The organisations are committed to continuous improvement in sustainability and animal welfare through leadership, innovation, multi-stakeholder communication and supply chain collaboration.

Over 30 organisations spanning the poultry supply chain have joined the organisation as founding members. Industry players like American Humane, Aviagen, Boehringer Ingelheim, Cargill, Elanco, IKEA Group, Tyson Foods, Yum Brands and Zoetis will act as stakeholders at the conference.

“This is a milestone for the poultry and egg sector to have growers, processors, integrators, allied industry, foodservice, associations and NGOs from across the globe and the United States sitting down to discuss how they can collaborate on improving welfare and sustainability,” said Ryan Bennett, executive director of US-RSPE and IPWA.

The joint US-RSPE and IPWA Annual Conference will take place on 9 October at the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway. Registration will be available on Monday 12 August. For additional details, click here, or visit poultrywelfare.org.
