According to reporting in FarmingUK, one worker at the plant in Llangefni, Anglesey has been hospitalised and 12 other staff members have tested positive. The workers’ union reports that nearly a quarter of staff members at the site are self-isolating.

2 Sisters has not confirmed the total number of cases, but issued a statement saying that ensuring the safest possible working environment for employees was a “key priority”.

"We have had a series of measures in place for some time including regular and intensive deep cleaning and disinfecting regimes, the wearing of protective visors in production areas and implementing social distancing throughout the factory," a spokesman said.

2 Sisters produces a third of all poultry products consumed in the UK. Poultry represents more than half of 2 Sisters’ business by sales, employing over 7,000 people.
