South Korea confirms another case of highly pathogenic bird flu at a farm site

South Korean animal health authorities have reported another case of avian influenza at a duck farm and announced new biosecurity measures.

According to reporting in KBS World Radio, the latest outbreak of H5N8 bird flu at a duck farm in Jeongeup, North Jeolla province, is South Korea’s thirtieth case.

Animal health authorities culled poultry within a three-kilometre radius of the farm. The government has issued a 30-day standstill order for poultry farms within ten-kilometres of the outbreak. A regional testing plan has been announced as well.
