According to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), the first outbreak was detected at a turkey farm near King’s Lynn in Norfolk. The second outbreak was identified in a separate turkey rearing premises in Attleborough, which is also in Norfolk.

These most recent outbreaks follow a spate of bird flu cases on poultry farms and wild birds. The government has announced new biosecurity guidance and has asked poultry farmers to keep their birds indoors from 14 December.
