"Direct from the farm" trending - Products and services for direct farm sales and farm shops – Exhibitors register by March 15, 2022

(DLG). DLG (German Agricultural Society), organizer of the EuroTier trade fair, which will be held from 15 to 18 November 2022 in Hanover, Germany, will offer, for the first time, a focus on direct farm sales in its technical and exhibition program. The topic is underpinned by the exhibition’s guiding theme "Transforming Animal Farming." Technical solutions, products and services as well as current marketing strategies are some of the many highlights. The world's leading trade fair for animal husbandry professionals puts the spotlight on a growth area that appeals to an increasing number of agricultural businesses. EuroTier offers exhibitors a wide range of opportunities to participate in the exhibition and technical program.

Products from one's own region with traceable origin and freshness are important reasons why many people decide to buy agricultural products "directly from the farmer". On-farm processing and direct sales are therefore becoming attractive to more and more agricultural businesses and farms. In Germany alone, 30,000 to 40,000 farmers currently sell from the farm directly from selling a few eggs or vegetables right up to perfectly organized farm stores or catering services, and the trend is still rising.

"EuroTier is not only the world's leading trade fair, it is also a platform for alternative distribution strategies in the value chain. With our offerings on direct farm sales, we are addressing a topic that is relevant to the agricultural sector. Some 40 percent of our professional farming visitors are interested in the topic of direct farm sales. More and more farmers are planning specific investments in production and packaging technology as well as vending machines," says Ines Rathke, EuroTier project manager.

A high demand for information from visitors is expected. "As the organizer, DLG has an extensive network of experts and partners from the direct farm sales sector. EuroTier therefore represents the ideal platform for exchanging information on the latest developments in this growing segment and learning about the technical solutions available as well as networking specifically with other direct farm sales professionals," added Rathke.

Attractive participation opportunities for exhibitors

In the "direct farm sales" exhibition program this year, suppliers of technology and services for food processing and packaging, storage, logistics, thermal treatment processes, store equipment, vending machines, weighing scales, operating resources, technological aids, additives and spices, as well as exhibitors from the areas of organizations and publishing houses will be represented. A technical program highlight on opportunities, trends and challenges of direct farm sales will complement the offering.

World's leading trade fair with additional digital offerings

In addition to the in-person trade fair taking place in Hanover, the world's leading trade fair for animal husbandry offers exhibitors and visitors an additional digital program on the "DLG Connect" platform (w w w. dlg-connect. com), an interactive platform developed by DLG as part of its objective to further knowledge in the international agricultural sector. EuroTier exhibitors can use this platform to deliver targeted information about their products and innovations in preparation for their presence at the trade fair. Visitors benefit from the opportunity to network specifically with exhibitors in the run-up to EuroTier and also benefit from up-to-date specialist information.
