For the first time in nearly a decade, Kentucky Fried Chicken is bringing back  the KFC Double Down Sandwich, according to a company-issued press release. The KFC Double Down, a bun-less sandwich that features two crispy white meat filets, cheese, bacon and sauce, will be available at KFC restaurants across the US for just four weeks.

KFC originally debuted the Double Down in 2010, selling more than 10 million sandwiches in the first month. The company said it brought it back in April of 2014 due to its popularity.

"The Double Down is one of the most buzz-worthy fast food menu items ever," said Nick Chavez, CMO, KFC US. "After nearly a decade of people begging for its return, we're embracing the chaos, bringing back our most iconic sandwich ever for just four weeks."

The sandwich has created some pushback from nutritionists and health experts who balked at its sodium, fat and caloric content, saying that it should carry a warning label.

The sandwich was relaunched March 6.
