In a recent press release, Shell Egg Academy (SEA) announced future dates for its virtual and in-person education events.

SEA is a unique learning experience and education opportunity for individuals who work in egg production and egg processing. Through a combination of interactive classroom experiences taught by expert speakers as well as hands-on learning, participants in SEA are provided the latest information on egg quality and egg food safety.

Virtual SEA is beginner course on egg production and processing that focuses on egg quality information useful for employees who work in egg barns and processing plants. Because this course is held online, companies pay a course fee that allows an unlimited number of employees to participate as well as access to course videos for six months. Virtual SEA also provides Spanish translation for speaker presentations as well as coursework and slide decks.

In-person SEA is held at Purdue University and developed specifically for managers of egg companies and those in similar positions looking for a deeper dive into egg quality and food safety as well as specific table-top exercises, and enhanced, in-person networking opportunities with industry, academia, and regulatory agencies.

The egg industry should mark their calendars for the following dates:

2024 SEA

  • Virtual event – April 29-May 3
  • In-person event – October 1-3

2025 SEA

  • Virtual event – April 28-May 2
  • In-Person event – September 30-October 2

2026 SEA

  • Virtual event – April 27-May 1
  • In-Person event – September 29-October 1

All in-person SEA events are scheduled to be held at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.
