Brazil chicken slaughter grows by 4.7% - IBGE report

Slaughter declined 2.8% from the previous quarter

According to the quarterly livestock report from Brazil's Agência de Notícias (IBGE), chicken slaughter has grown by 4.7% over last year's numbers, but fallen 2.8% compared to the previous quarter.

In the 2nd quarter of 2023, 1.56 billion chickens were slaughtered, an increase of 4.7% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, but a decline of 2.8% compared to the 1st quarter of 2023.

The accumulated weight of the carcasses was 3.35 million tons in the 2nd quarter of 2023, an increase of 7.2% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2022, but a decline of 2.2% compared to the previous quarter.
