Poultry India and the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), in collaboration with the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), marked World Egg Day 2025 at the Press Club, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, emphasizing this year’s theme —“Protein Awareness: Eggs for Nutrition & Health."

The event aimed to raise awareness about the crucial role of eggs in addressing India’s growing protein deficiency and ensuring affordable, accessible nutrition for all. Experts highlighted that eggs, often called “nature’s perfect food,” are rich in high-quality protein, vitamins, and essential minerals, making them an ideal dietary choice for all age groups — from children and adults to the elderly and patients recovering from illness.

The celebration was graced by K.G. Anand, G.M, VHL Group, Hyderabad, Dr. Uday, Dean, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, R. P.  In their address, the guests highlighted the significance of egg nutrition and its contribution to healthy living, aligning with the theme of the World Egg Day celebration. Their participation underscored the importance of promoting nutrition awareness across the nation.

Mr. Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA and Poultry India

Addressing the media, Mr. Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA and Poultry India, said that despite India being the world’s second-largest egg producer, the average annual per capita consumption in 2024 was only 103 eggs — less than half the global average.

“This gap clearly highlights the urgent need for awareness campaigns like World Egg Day to encourage every Indian to include eggs in their daily diet for better health and nutrition,” he stated.

The event also focused on the need to combat protein deficiency through affordable and nutrient-rich foods like eggs, which support growth, immunity, and overall health while bridging the nutrition gap across socio-economic groups.

Looking ahead, IPEMA announced the 17th edition of Poultry India Expo 2025, South Asia’s largest poultry exhibition, scheduled from November 26–28, 2025, at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad.

The expo will feature over 500 exhibitors from 50 countries, 50,000+ visitors, and cutting-edge innovations in poultry breeding, automation, veterinary science, and sustainable farming. A special Knowledge Day will be held on November 25, 2025, at Novotel Hyderabad, featuring expert seminars on emerging poultry diseases, sustainable feed solutions, and career opportunities in the sector.
