USDA raises 2025 turkey price forecast to 131.5¢/lb
Wholesale values climb through August before early fall dip
US wholesale prices for frozen whole hen turkeys are raised 4.2 cents for 2025 to an annual price of 131.5 cents per pound, according to the US Department of Agriculture's Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook for September.
Third-quarter and fourth-quarter prices for 2025 are increased 7 cents and 10 cents per pound to 157 cents and 155 cents per pound, respectively.
Wholesale prices for 2026 remain unchanged from the August WASDE at 131 cents per pound.
Weekly prices for frozen whole hen turkeys continued to rise through the month of August, peaking at 160.57 cents per pound for the week ending August 30.
Wholesale prices fell to 154.66 cents per pound in the first week of September, with 387 thousand pounds being traded.
