Brazil’s October chicken exports hit second-highest level
Shipments rise despite China’s absence; sales poised for new record
According to a recent market report from Cepea, Brazil’s chicken meat exports in October reached the second highest monthly volume on record; the peak was set in March 2023.
The strong performance occurred even without sales to China. The country resumed purchases from Brazil on November 7, ending a six-month suspension imposed by several nations after a bird flu case detected in May. With exports to China now reinstated, overall shipment volumes are expected to climb again.
According to Secex data, Brazil exported 501.3 thousand tons of chicken meat (in natura and processed products) in October, up 3.95% from September 2025 and 8.2% higher than in October 2024.
As a result, export volumes for the first 10 months of 2025 are nearly identical to those in the same period last year, indicating that Brazil is on track to set another annual record.
Despite higher shipments, revenue fell short of expectations. Secex reports that export income totalled BRL 4.6 billion in October, an increase of 1.2% from September but 8.4% lower than in October 2024.
In the first five working days of November, the daily average of international sales reached 27 thousand tons, the highest in the Secex series since 1997, 25.4% above the October 2025 average and 17.6% higher than in November 2024.
