MBRF eyes price rebound as China lifts chicken ban
Brazilian poultry exports set to resume after flu-related halt
Brazilian food producer MBRF believes that China's recent decision to resume purchases of Brazilian chicken meat represents an opportunity to reverse a decline in prices for fresh products, Reuters reported, citing executives on Tuesday.
The decision should also enable exports of goods for processing at the company's Chinese facility, they added.
A bird flu outbreak in Brazil in May temporarily halted shipments of chicken meat to China, and with the excess product being sold domestically, average prices in Brazil dropped in the third quarter, the company said.
