Trouw Nutrition shares scientific research at World’s Poultry Congress 2026
World’s Poultry Congress 2026 (WPC 2026), 13-17 July at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada.
Trouw Nutrition, Nutreco’s livestock feed and animal nutrition business, will share poultry science findings on nutrient utilization, predictive modelling, and PhytoComplex innovations at the World’s Poultry Congress 2026 (WPC 2026), 13-17 July at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada. During the scientific gathering, researchers will share study findings that shed new insights on nutritional approaches to address challenges affecting modern poultry production systems.
“Trouw Nutrition’s research presented at WPC aims to help stakeholders navigate the complexity of today’s production environment including flock performance, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship,” said Jose Manuel De La Fuente Garcia, Global Marketing Manager Poultry at Trouw Nutrition. “Scientific research is essential for developing solutions that support more precise feeding programmes, achieve better production metrics, and support both animal welfare and the environment.
Highlights of Trouw Nutrition research presented at WPC 2026 include:
Optimizing calcium and phosphorus in the diet
Broiler Responses to the Interaction Between Dietary Total Calcium and Digestible Phosphorus Levels During the Grower Phase: Presenter Lewis Aguirre will review a study evaluating how dietary calcium (CA) and phosphorus (P) affect broiler performance and bone mineralization during the grower phase.
Impact of Varying Calcium and Digestible Phosphorus Levels on Growth, Skeletal Development, and Nutrient Digestibility During the Complete Rearing Pullet Phase: Presenter Clara Alfonso-Carrillo will review a study evaluating the effects of varying dietary Ca and P on performance, bone quality, and apparent total tract retention of minerals during the rearing period.
Evaluation of Phase-Specific Calcium and Phosphorus Feeding Strategies on Growth Performance and Body Composition of Broiler Chickens: Presenter Midian McCulligh will remark on a study evaluating the effects of different depletion and repletion feeding strategies of Ca and digestible P on broiler chicken growth and body performance.
Driving decision making with predictive modelling
Challenging a Broiler Growth Model Designed for Technical & Economic Decision Support: Presenter Matheus Reis will share findings from a study evaluating a mechanistic broiler growth model designed to predict how various feeding strategies may affect birds’ technical performance and producers’ economic outcomes.
Gut health, resilience and precision nutrition
Fatty Liver Syndrome Challenge Induces Persistent Nutrient Utilization Variability and Jejunal Transcriptomic Shifts in Late-Laying ISA Brown Hens: Presenter Reza Akbari will review a study exploring whether a dietary fatty liver syndrome challenge induces persistent effects on nutrient utilization and intestinal function in late-laying hens.
Enhancing Broiler Performance with a Novel Combination of PhytoComplex and Target-Release Butyrates: Presenter Lane Pineda will review a study evaluating a combination of plant-derived bioactive compounds (PhytoComplexes) and target-release butyrates in improving the zootechnical performance of broilers.
Interaction Between Low Crude Protein (LCP) and Raised-Without-Antibiotics (RWA) Concepts on Growth Performance, Organ Weight, and Feeding Cost in Broiler Chickens: Presenter Sylvester Mutinda will review a study that looked at the interactive effects of LCP and RWA on growth performance, organ weights, and body chemical composition in broiler chickens.
In addition to its scientific oral presentations, Trouw Nutrition will host From Insight to Impact: Transforming Poultry Nutrition, on 14 July at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in room 401. The event programme will feature Trouw Nutrition scientists discussing how nutritional modelling, trace mineral strategies, and PhytoComplex solutions can help enhance poultry performance, resilience, and profitability.
Organized by the World Poultry Association, WPC convenes scientific stakeholders every four years to exchange knowledge, explore innovations, and shape the future of the global poultry sector.
