Inaugural Slovenian Flock Awards a Great Success
SLOVENIA - The broiler awards are based on the best performing flock and the best quality carcass produced.Aviagen, the world's leading poultry breeding company, recently presented the inaugural Slovenian Broiler Awards in the Ptuj district. The award ceremony was combined with a seminar, held in conjunction with Aviagen's Slovenian customer, Perutnina Ptuj.
Over 150 contract farmers attended the seminar which was led by the Aviagen Eastern European Team and covered topics such as ventilation practises , brooding management, EU environmental conditions, welfare legislation and broiler management.
The broiler awards are based on the best performing flock and the best quality carcass produced. They also provide an opportunity to reward the best farm managers for their stockmanship and the whole event enables Aviagen to thank all customers for their help in collecting and sharing product performance data in the field. . The Ross product has proven very successful in Eastern European countries and broiler performance has improved year on year. Due to the popularity of the broiler awards, there are plans in place to have Parent Stock awards in November of this year
The awards were won by Dragica Kidric, Miroslav Lah and Milan Brodnjak who each received a commemorative plaque.
Jonny Harrison, Aviagen's Area Technical Manager, said: "I would like to congratulate all our customers who have achieved these fantastic results. Our breeding programme delivers birds with superb genetic potential, but this potential can only be realised through strong farm management."
