Atlanta Celebrates Long-term Convention Success
ATLANTA – In the past five years, the International Poultry Expo (IPE) has brought nearly 94,000 attendees and $100 million in economic impact to Atlanta, Georgia in the USA.Held since 1948, IPE is one of the city’s longest and most successful trade shows.
"Atlanta is the perfect home for IPE and we are proud to continually host their annual event," said Spurgeon Richardson, president and CEO of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau.
"The city has grown with the convention and has been able to offer attendees a different experience every year."
The expo, which represents every segment of the poultry and egg industry, will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, from 23-25 January.
The International Feed Expo will be running alongside IPE for the second year in a row and will feature nearly 900 exhibitors, educational programmes, cooking demonstrations, an expo for college students and keynote speakers including the U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez.
"The relationships we have developed over the years with the staffs of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Georgia World Congress Center and the hotel community have been ones of mutual respect," said John Starkey, president of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the event sponsor.
"The IPE is known as the ‘Atlanta Show’ in many quarters."
