Print This Page Poultry Exports Rise
ARGENTINA - Argentine exports of poultry meat reach $59,751,000 for the first quarter of the year, according to figures released by the National Service for Health and Agro-alimentary Quality (Senasa).The shipments of 40,140 tonnes showed a 24 per cent growth in volume and a 58 per cent growth in value, compared to the same period last year, when the country exported 32,228 tonnes worth $37,721,000.
The exports showed a 35 per cent rise in shipments of whole birds and portions, with 26,706 tonne worth $42,536,000 being shipped.
The main destinations for the exports were Chile, South Africa, The Netherlands, Venezuela, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the UK and Greece.
Argentina also saw a 10 per cent rise in exports of by-products, mainly to China, Hong Kong and Viet Nam.
However, while Argentina saw a rise in fresh and frozen products, exports of processed chicken products fell by 19 per cent.
