Print This Page Egg Products: Shell Eggs Broken Up 13 Percent from Last Year
US - Shell eggs broken totaled 177 million dozen during April 2008, up 13 percent from April a year ago, and 9 percent above the 163 million broken last month.
April 2008 contained 22 weekdays and 4 Saturdays. April 2007 contained 21 weekdays and 4 Saturdays.
During calendar year 2008 through April, shell eggs broken totaled 663 million dozen, up 5 percent from the comparable period in 2007. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2008 was 867 million pounds, up 4 percent from 2007.
