US Chicken Processor Opens Up in Lebanon
US - A US chicken meat supplier has announced that it is to open a new processing facility in Lebanon.According to Business First the plant will employ about 250 people.
"The location of Rancho Poultry to the Marion County community will produce hundreds of employment opportunities and represents a tremendous capital investment in the commonwealth," Gov. Steve Beshear said Tuesday in a news release.
Rancho Poultry plans to build a 100,000 square-foot facility on 25 acres, with two processing lines capable of making 60 million pounds of partially cooked, battered and breaded chicken products annually. The company is also considering adding a third product line and an additional 50 jobs, the news agency reported.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority gave final approval in June 2008 for up to $7.5 million on tax benefits for the project.
