Cracking Number of 'Eggs Factor' Entries
UK - The British Lion eggs 'Eggs Factor' competition has had an excellent response with more than 60,000 people logging on to the web site, resulting in almost 500 entries. With £10,000 in prizes up for grabs, the competition has generated wide-spread coverage in the media, with editorial features in a number of national papers, women’s magazines and trade publications. POS material including fliers, posters and barker pads has been supported by retailers eager to increase consumer awareness of the campaign.
British Egg Information Service spokesman, Kevin Coles, said, “The Eggs Factor is proving very popular and we have had a great deal of interest from professional and amateur chefs.”
After the closing date on 3 August, short-listed entrants will be invited to a series of regional cook-offs across the UK during September (taking place in Manchester, Brighton, Coventry, Leeds, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast) and the eight winners of the regional finals will compete in a national cook-off in October, when the new ‘Face of Eggs’ will be crowned.
