Print This Page Pilgrim's and JOY in New J-V
US - Pilgrim’s Pride and J.O.Y. Foods are to build a new plant to supply McDonald's.J.O.Y. Foods Inc. of Dallas and Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. are to build a new plant in Dallas, reports Dallas Business Journal.
The plant will supply chicken nuggets, patties and fillets to fast-food giant, McDonald’s restaurants.
J.O.Y. and Pilgrim’s have formed Merit Provisions LLC for the joint venture. J.O.Y. Products Corp., a subsidiary of J.O.Y. Foods established for this partnership, owns 51% of Merit Provisions and Pilgrim’s Pride owns 49%, according to Joy Wallace, president of 10-year-old J.O.Y. Foods.
The plant is in the planning stages but the exact site is yet to be announced. It is expected to create 200 jobs.
