Bird Flu Outbreaks in Russia 'Resolved'

RUSSIA - The veterinary authorities have sent a follow-up report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) regarding an outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza that began in January 2007.

The Russian veterinary authorities sent the latest report to OIE on 15 October, detailing outbreaks of H5N1 in two backyard flocks in February and December 2007. In each case, they were 'resolved' the following month.
