New President of European Operations for Aviagen
SCOTLAND - Aviagen has announced the appointment of Brian Whittle to the role of President, European Operations, with effect from 1 November 2008.Brian Whittle comes to Aviagen with extensive experience at a senior level within a number of industries, including poultry, pork and food. His most recent positions have been as Managing Director for Grampian Country Foods’ pork division and Chief Executive of Cherry Valley Farms.

He replaces Val Mendeleev, who leaves Aviagen at the end of October to take up a position as CEO with a global group which includes one of the world’s leading beverage companies as well as operations in real estate, retail and agribusiness.
Randall Ennis, Chief Executive Officer, Aviagen Broiler Breeding, said, "We are fortunate to be able to appoint someone with Brian's experience in managing complex businesses and Brian will prove to be a huge asset to ourselves and our customers. Brian has worked in several senior roles across a variety of industries and brings his unique knowledge and experience to lead our established European team and continue to grow our business in Europe."
