Aviagen Celebrates Ross Success with Perutnina Ptuj
SLOVENIA - Aviagen recently co-hosted a technical seminar with their major Ross customer in Slovenia, Perutnina Ptuj.The seminar, which has become an annual event, brought together all Perutnina Ptuj’s Parent Stock (PS) farmers as well as PS farmers from the company’s Serbian venture, Topiko. Delegates were addressed by members of the Aviagen team who passed on a wide range of topical technical advice.
Neil Clark, Technical Service Manager, discussed 'Consistency in Parent Stock Performance' and Kruno Bosilj, Technical Service Manager, highlighted 'Critical Inputs to Maintain Fertility and Hatchability'.
The seminar also saw the presentation of the annual Ross Flock Awards. Perutnina Ptuj farm managers, Branko Firbas and Ana Jeza, were commended for achieving hen-house chick numbers above 142 chicks to 60 weeks.
Jonny Harrison, Aviagen’s Regional Technical Manager, said, “We are delighted to reward Branko and Ana for their outstanding performance. The flock awards are a testament to the great potential of Ross stock, which, when combined with the excellent management of the Perutnina Ptuj team, produces superb results, with year-on-year improvements.
Events such as these are important to Aviagen, as they demonstrate our commitment to sharing the latest information and practical advice with customers to help them maximise the performance of their Ross stock.”
Milena Valant, Production Director from Perutnina Ptuj, added, “The flock awards are a great motivation for our farm managers as they are very proud to receive the awards. They are delighted to receive the awards as they like to be the best.
For us as a company it is also good as we know what is really achievable from our stock which can give us higher economical benefits.”
