Agromars Output up by 2.4 Per Cent in 2008
UKRAINE - Agromars Complex Ltd, selling poultry under the Havrylivski Kurchata brand, boosted poultry output by 2.4 per cent in 2008 to almost 130,000 tonnes."As we planned last year, we produced almost 130,000 tonnes of poultry, which was about 3,000 tonnes up on 2007," Director General of Agromars Complex Ltd. Oleksiy Marchenko told Interfax-Ukraine on 20 January, accoridng to Kyiv Post.
He said that the company had planned to considerably increase production 2009, but that it will review its plans due to the difficult financial and economic situation in the country.
He said the financial crisis had caused Agromars Complex to partly suspend the implementation of some investment projects on the expansion of production facilities. In particular, the company has frozen the construction of some facilities.
Speaking about the situation on the poultry market, he said that the crisis had not drastically affected it.
"The process of sales proceeds as normal," he said.
However, with due regard for a decline in consumer demand, Agromars Complex in January cut prices for whole broiler chickens by seven to eight per cent.
Agromars Complex was established in 1998 as a closed joint-stock company, and in 2007 it was reorganized into a limited liability company. The company has more than 25 bird farms. In 2007, the company produced almost 125,000 tonnes of poultry, which was 13.6 per cent up on 2006 output.
