Both were at Chincha in Ica, which is also on the coast but further north than the first outbreak. The two farms had a total of 35,000 birds, of which 19,410 were affected and 1,410 died. None of the survivors is reported have been destroyed.

On 21 April, the authorities sent an Immediate Notification to OIE about a case of Newcastle disease, which started in February 2009 and was reportedly resolved in March. It involved a backyard flock at Tacna, the state that borders Chile. All the birds in the flock were destroyed.
