US Monthly Egg Products Report - December 2009

US - Shell eggs broken totalled 151 million dozen during November, five per cent fewer than the same month a year ago, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report for November 2009.

Shell eggs broken totalled 151 million dozen during November 2009, down five per cent from November a year ago, and 12 per cent below the 172 million broken last month.

November 2009 contained 21 weekdays (including two holidays) and four Saturdays. November 2008 contained 20 weekdays (including two holidays) and five Saturdays.

During calendar year 2009 through November, shell eggs broken totalled 1,825 million dozen, down three per cent from the comparable period in 2008. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2009 was 2,380 million pounds, down three per cent from 2008.
