The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 2 dated 27 December to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

According to the report, a flock of 18,000 46-day-old broilers at Melea in the region of Hazafon was affected on 26 December. Of these, 1,000 showed symptoms and 500 died.

It is suspected that the infection was transmitted by a person who travelled from Kfar Yehoshua (outbreak of 14 December 2010) to this farm on 15 December 2010.
