Bird Flu Movement Restrictions Lifted

JAPAN - All movement restrictions imposed following the recent outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have now been lifted.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 12 dated 15 April to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

According to the report, mandatory movement restrictions were lifted on 28 March in Minamiise-cho (follow-up report No. 10), Mutsukura-cho (follow-up report No. 10), on 29 March in Kadokawa-cho (follow-up report No. 10), and on 15 April in Wakaba-ku 1 (follow-up report No.11) and Wakaba-ku 2 (follow-up report No. 11).

All movement restrictions were lifted by 15 April 2011.
