Maltese Eggs Not in Line with Legislation Destroyed

MALTA - A quantity of eggs that was being packed for human consumption was destroyed by the Veterinary Directorate yesterday morning during a routine inspection.

According to TimesofMalta.com, the directorate said its officers were inspecting farms in the limit of Maghtab where they came face to face with an unauthorised egg packing activity.

Some of the eggs being packed were unstamped, the stamp on others was unclear and a number of eggs had a stamp showing a non-Maltese origin and were not in conformity with Maltese and EU legislation.
